Prosecutors allege he attacked 58 victims.

The electrician has been in custody since March.

He faces 22 counts of sexual assault against 14 identified women, according to the Berlin public prosecutor's office.

Investigators believe the suspect recorded the assaults. This has led to further scrutiny under laws protecting individual image rights.

"The accused is alleged to have sedated the women using various sleeping tablets in combination with alcohol and subsequently raped them," said a spokesperson for the prosecutors.

The suspect is believed to have lured victims through online dating platforms. Many victims did not remember the incidents until videos were discovered.

The case emerged after a tip-off from police in Lower Saxony, who were investigating similar allegations against a deceased man.

A search of the suspect's home uncovered extensive digital evidence.

In 2026, investigators found several videos depicting the assaults, leading to the man's arrest.

These allegations are part of a troubling trend of recorded sexual assaults reported in cities across Germany.

German media have drawn parallels to other notorious cases, including that of Gisèle Pelicot, whose husband was convicted of drugging and abusing her.

Judge Markus Koppenleitner highlighted the broader issue, stating, "This is not a Chinese or French phenomenon, but one that also occurs in Germany and, ultimately, worldwide."

The ongoing investigations reveal a disturbing pattern of drug-facilitated sexual assaults that span internationally, as reported by The Guardian.
