"The arson in Geesteren is a cowardly, despicable, and completely unacceptable act.
An anonymous attack on a family, committed in the night, deserves nothing but our deepest disapproval," the council said.
Council members reiterated that such hostility contradicts local values of respect and safety. "This act goes against everything our municipality stands for: respect, safety, and neighborliness.
It touches not only the family, but also sows fear and unrest in the neighborhood and throughout Geesteren," they stated.
Local leadership called on the public to cooperate with law enforcement to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
"The perpetrator or perpetrators must be traced and prosecuted as quickly as possible.
Anyone who intimidates a family or neighborhood with fire, fear, and destruction must know: there is no place for this in our municipality," the council said.
Officials expressed confidence in the investigation and urged anyone with relevant information to report it. "We have confidence that the police and judiciary will track down those responsible.

We call on anyone who has information to report to the police," the council concluded.
