Mercedes-AMG's new all-electric GT 4-Door Coupe doesn't burn gasoline, but it does burn rubber—and it wants you to believe it's a V8.

AMGFORCE S+ Sound System
AMG calls the system AMGFORCE S+.
It uses over 1,600 individual audio samples combined in real time based on throttle, speed, and driving behavior.
The system mimics the sound of the AMG GT R's V8, including fake upshifts, drivetrain interruptions, and burbling on overrun.
There are also custom sounds for unlocking the car, plugging in the charger, and starting launch control.
AMG released footage of a yellow four-door coupe being driven on a test circuit, showcasing the fake V8 growls, crackles, and simulated gearshifts.

It packs a 106 kWh battery, an 800-volt electrical system, and three axial-flux electric motors.
With launch control, it produces up to 1,153 hp and 1,475 lb-ft of torque.
AMG claims a 0-62 mph time of 2.1 seconds (with drag strip rollout) and a top speed of 186 mph.
Recharging from 10-80 percent takes only 11 minutes thanks to 600 kW charging capability.
