A wave of roster cuts has swept through the WNBA as teams finalize their lineups for the 2026 season, which features a record 15 franchises.
The Seattle Storm released rookie forward Grace VanSlooten on Monday, May 18, 2026, according to reports from sports.

The move opens a spot on the Storm's 12-player roster for rookie center Awa Fam, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA draft.
Fam recently concluded her season with Valencia Basket in Spain.
VanSlooten, selected No. 39 overall out of Michigan State, averaged 4.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 12.0 minutes per game in four appearances for Seattle.

Multiple Teams Adjust Rosters
Other franchises have also made adjustments. The Golden State Valkyries waived Ashten Prechtel, and the New York Liberty released Aubrey Griffin since Monday.
Earlier, the Phoenix Mercury waived Anneli Maley and Peyton Williams, the Connecticut Sun released Shey Peddy, and the Portland Fire waived Jordan Harrison.
Roster management has tightened despite the addition of the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo, which increased total roster spots to over 200 through 12 standard positions and two developmental slots per team.

The Seattle Storm, currently holding a 1-3 record, are scheduled to begin a four-game home stretch over the next 10 days, featuring two matchups each against the Connecticut Sun and the Washington Mystics.
