Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez will carry a 29 2/3 inning scoreless streak into the opening match of a three-game home series against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday.
Sanchez enters the matchup with a 5-2 record and a 1.82 ERA for the season.

The dominant run follows a Saturday performance where he struck out a career-high 13 batters during a complete game shutout against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The recent shutout from Sanchez has drawn wider recognition to his performance this season, especially after he finished as the runner-up for the National League Cy Young Award in 2025 with a 13-5 record and a 2.50 ERA.
"I'm proud of myself, but at the same time, I try to keep my feet on the ground," said Sanchez.
"Keep it going, keep getting better, keep working. The same."
The pitcher has displayed precise control throughout May, registering 30 strikeouts while issuing just a single walk.
His performance places him among other notable National League pitchers generating early attention this year, including Paul Skenes, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and teammate Zack Wheeler.
The visiting Guardians come into Philadelphia on a six-game winning streak after securing a four-game series sweep against the Detroit Tigers, where Cleveland pitchers allowed only eight runs.
"After a couple of emotional wins back to back, it could be easy to show up today on your heels," said Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Vogt.
"But our guys came out ready to rock."
