The final victory of that series featured 5 2/3 scoreless innings from pitcher Joey Cantillo and a home run by Patrick Bailey.

"Everyone's just doing their part and kind of feeding off each other," said Cantillo.

Cleveland will counter Sanchez by starting right-hander Gavin Williams, who holds a 6-3 record and a 3.67 ERA after giving up two runs over six innings against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday.

"I know I've got to clean some things up in the delivery," said Williams. "Metrically, the pitches aren't where I want them to be.

So I'm going to take a little dive into that and see what I can do."

Williams holds a career 1-0 record with a 1.00 ERA in two previous starts against Philadelphia.

Conversely, Sanchez allowed three runs across six innings during his sole career appearance against Cleveland in 2024.

The Phillies return home after dropping two out of three games to the Cincinnati Reds earlier in the week, snapping a stretch of six consecutive series victories for Philadelphia.

"We're fine," said Philadelphia Phillies interim manager Don Mattingly. "You're not going to win every day.

I mean, I plan on winning every day, but that's not going to happen."

The upcoming series follows the 2025 matchups between the two clubs, where Philadelphia won two out of three games during their visit to Cleveland.
