Monsters Dominate Territory and Shots
Cleveland has outshot Toronto 88-50 over the series and built early 2-0 leads in all three games.
The Marlies, who averaged 3.18 goals per game during the regular season, have managed only one goal in their last two contests.
Captain Logan Shaw pointed to the team's inability to sustain offensive-zone pressure, noting that sustained play has been limited since Game 1.
Coaching Adjustments and Rookie Development
Head coach John Gruden acknowledged the need for tactical changes to spark the offense and counter Cleveland's defensive pairings.
Gruden also discussed rookie forward Easton Cowan, urging him to simplify his approach in high-pressure playoff situations rather than seeking perfect opportunities.
The coach expressed confidence in 18-year-old defenseman Ben Danford, who moved directly from junior hockey to the AHL playoffs.
Gruden noted Danford's physical growth and adaptation since training camp, adding that his role will expand with experience.
Gruden also praised the peer support between young prospects like Cowan and Danford.
Cowan described the grueling hockey calendar and the importance of physical maintenance late in the season.
