According to AP News, Vegas overturned a 1-0 deficit by scoring twice within a span of 2 minutes and 7 seconds during the final period.
Barbashev later secured the win with an empty-net goal with 1:03 remaining.
The victory places Colorado in a historical deficit.
NHL statistics indicate that since 1982, road teams establishing a 2-0 start in the conference finals have achieved a perfect 13-0 series record.
Coach and Players React
Vegas head coach John Tortorella praised his roster following the game. The team has posted a 17-4-1 record since he assumed leadership on March 29.
"They understand the situation," Tortorella said. "I'm not sure where the series goes.
I'm not sure where Game 3 goes. But I know I'm not going to have to worry about that, because they get it."
Goaltender Carter Hart anchored the defense with a 29-save performance, following his 36 saves during Wednesday's 4-2 opening victory.
Offensively, Eichel ended an 11-game scoring drought by beating Colorado goaltender Scott Wedgewood to tie the game.
"I haven't scored in a million days," Eichel joked.
The game-winning play materialized after Avalanche defensemen Devon Toews and Brock Nelson failed to clear the puck along the boards, allowing Eichel to assist Barbashev's go-ahead goal.
