The youth athlete noted that falling does not deter his training momentum.
"I already fell but it doesn't matter, it hurts and after that it doesn't hurt anymore," said Nils.
Other local youth have also taken up the sport independently to focus on skill development.
"I came one day with my friends and since then I keep coming back. Today I came alone because I really want to progress!"
said Agatha, an eleven-year-old rollerblader.
Longtime participants highlighted the stark contrast between modern public infrastructure and the limited facilities available during the early years of the regional urban sports scene.
"In 2005-2006 when I started, there was nothing. Very little equipment, even the material we used was less adapted to the practice.

We had the Rotonde skatepark but otherwise we rode in the street, on urban furniture," said Nicolas, a 30-year-old electrician who rides BMX and scooters.
