Jon Moxley successfully defended the AEW Continental Championship against Kyle O'Reilly by submission at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Sunday night in New York City.
The Death Riders leader forced O'Reilly to tap out after 19 minutes using a technical leg lock, according to reports from Bleacher Report and Post Wrestling.

O'Reilly initially targeted Moxley with an ankle lock, a move he had used to defeat the champion previously, but Moxley escaped and applied his own submission hold.
The match was booked with no time limit after their previous encounter on Dynamite ended in a 20-minute time-limit draw.
Moxley employed a slow, technical strategy from the opening minutes, focusing on O'Reilly's left leg, which had pre-existing damage.
This victory marks the first time Moxley has beaten O'Reilly in a singles match since 2022, ending a dominant run by his rival over the past year.

O'Reilly had secured multiple wins against Moxley in late 2025, including a disqualification victory on Dynamite and a submission win in a Blood and Guts cage match in November.
He also submitted Moxley in a No Holds Barred match at Full Gear in November 2025, but suffered an injury that sidelined him for five months.
O'Reilly returned last month at Dynasty as the surprise partner of Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong to win the AEW World Trios Championship, which they still hold.

This successful defense is the fourth time Moxley has put the title on the line during his five-month reign, which began when he defeated Kazuchika Okada in December.
