The New York Knicks have advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time since the 1998-99 season.

They defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 130-93 at Rocket Arena on Monday, completing a four-game sweep in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Point guard Jalen Brunson was named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP after the Game 4 victory. The win extended New York's postseason winning streak to 11 consecutive games.

Brunson averaged 25.5 points and 7.7 assists throughout the series.

He scored 38 points in Game 1 to overcome a 22-point deficit, followed by a 19-point and 14-assist performance in Game 2, and 30 points in Game 3.

In the final game, six Knicks players scored in double digits.

The team now awaits the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder-San Antonio Spurs series in the NBA Finals.

The Knicks are pursuing their first title in 53 years, dating back to the 1972-73 season.

The Cavaliers were eliminated after a physical series dominated by New York's defensive pressure.

Cleveland had previously advanced through consecutive seven-game series against the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons.

The lopsided finale drew attention online.

The TNT halftime broadcast featured a segment poking fun at the franchise using a previous postseason appearance by Taylor Swift.

ESPN's Adam Schefter shared a screenshot of the broadcast on X, while Charles Barkley questioned Cleveland's competitiveness.
