The sedan body was shortened by 8 inches, and the coupe's fenders were widened to accommodate the transformation.
Under the hood sits a rebuilt 4.9-liter M V8 producing 426 horsepower, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Built by MKO
The project was created by German outfit MKO, founded by enthusiast Michael Oberhauser, around 10 years ago.
Rather than a simple engine swap, the team merged an E39 M5 with parts from two E9 CS coupes.
According to a build story on Motor Trend, the M5's upper structure was removed, the floorpan shortened by roughly 8 inches, and an E9 roof grafted onto the chassis.
Front arches were widened by 2.5 inches and rears by 4 inches. Much of the fabrication was done in Romania.

Batmobile Details
The finished car wears CSL Batmobile-inspired aerodynamic pieces, including a roof spoiler and small front fender fins.
It also features Hella driving lights, 3.0 CSL badging, and a Porsche paint finish. The current wheels are 19-inch Alpina-style rims with Continental SportContact 7 tires.
Inside, the modified M5 dashboard remains, joined by heated Recaro seats, dual-zone climate control, power windows, and a Pioneer touchscreen.
The driver's door window switch panel was relocated to the center console for practicality.
Power comes from the donor E39 M5's rebuilt S62 V8, producing a claimed 426 hp.
The engine sends output to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential. KW adjustable coilovers and retained M5 brakes keep everything in check.
