The Washington Nationals staged a dramatic ninth-inning rally to defeat the San Francisco Giants 4-3 on Monday night at a rainy Oracle Park.
The comeback spoiled a strong start by Giants pitcher Logan Webb, who allowed just one earned run over eight innings while striking out seven.

Giants Take Late Lead
San Francisco built a 3-1 advantage with runs in the sixth and eighth innings.
Matt Chapman drove in Jung Hoo Lee with a single in the sixth, and Bryce Eldridge doubled and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Jonah Cox in the eighth.
The Giants entered the ninth inning with a two-run lead, but reliever Keaton Winn struggled after pitching for a third consecutive day.
Nationals Strike Back
Winn allowed a double to Luis García Jr. and hit Curtis Mead with a pitch.

Both runners advanced on a passed ball before CJ Abrams singled to tie the game at 3-3.
Daylen Lile then singled to bring home Abrams, giving Washington the go-ahead run.
The Nationals' bullpen held on in the bottom of the ninth, striking out Eldridge with runners on first and third to end the game.

The loss dropped the Giants to 27-40, while the Nationals improved their record. The series continues Tuesday with Adrian Houser starting for San Francisco against Washington's Andrew Alvarez.
