Layne Riggs won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Qualcomm Circuit on Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California, on Friday, June 19, 2026.

It was his third victory in four races following a dramatic overtime sequence on the 3.4-mile street course.

Overtime Chaos Decides Winner

The highly anticipated debut of the Navy 250 concluded with late-race incidents among the frontrunners.

Kaden Honeycutt and Chandler Smith wrecked exiting Turn 1 during NASCAR Overtime, allowing Daniel Hemric, Tyler Reif, and Riggs to battle for the win.

Reif held the lead on the final lap until he missed the braking zone at Turn 14, cutting through the chicane.

He was forced to come to a complete stop to serve a penalty, allowing Riggs to pass on the inside to secure the victory.

Hemric finished in second place, while Kaz Grala, Landen Lewis, and Ty Majeski completed the top five positions.

Sixteen trucks were forced to start from the rear of the grid due to backup vehicles and post-qualifying repairs.

Honeycutt started on the pole alongside Riggs, but Riggs executed an inside pass through Turn 2 on the third lap to take an early lead and win Stage 1.

During the second stage, multiple drivers encountered trouble on the street circuit, including Connor Mosack and Corey LaJoie, who tangled on Lap 16.

Parker Kligerman elected to stay out on the track during a sequence of green-flag pit stops, securing the Stage 2 victory ahead of Majeski and Grant Enfinger.

Seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson led two laps during the event before suffering multiple spins and terminal damage in the final stage, relegating him to a 30th-place finish.

"It was wild," said Johnson, the hometown driver, regarding his initial experience on the temporary military base circuit.

The event featured several late cautions, including a yellow flag with four laps remaining when Tyler Ankrum heavily damaged his truck against the Turn 16 wall.
