Retaining Dosunmu was a top priority for the Timberwolves' front office this offseason.
President of basketball operations Tim Connelly had previously stated that re-signing the guard would be a key focus after the team's elimination in the Western Conference semifinals.
Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reported that the 26-year-old would have drawn strong interest from multiple teams if he had reached unrestricted free agency.
Minnesota originally acquired Dosunmu and Julian Phillips from the Chicago Bulls before the February trade deadline.

He has consistently exceeded expectations since entering the league.
This past season, he set career highs with averages of 14.8 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.4 rebounds across 69 games for both Chicago and Minnesota.
