"If we show our best side, I think we're going to win tomorrow," said Swiss defender Manuel Akanji.

The Swiss center-back made it clear that the European side is targeting a victory rather than playing for a safe result.

"I would not be satisfied with a draw," said Akanji.

Canada previously defeated Qatar 6-0, meaning their superior goal differential makes a tie sufficient to top the group alongside fellow tournament hosts Mexico and the United States.

"I said this when I took the job. ...

We have a clear objective. We want to win the group," said Marsch.

Switzerland struggled early in the tournament, drawing 1-1 with Qatar and leading Bosnia for only the final 16 minutes of a 4-1 win, but Marsch stated Canada will not alter its tactical approach to defend for a single point.

"The worst way to get the draw is to play for a draw," said Marsch.

The manager reiterated that his team will maintain its identity without becoming overly conservative or reckless.

"We are going to start this match going into it with the mentality and the tactics to win.

We're not going to be overly conservative, we're not going to be aggressive. We're going to be us," said Marsch.
