Saracens rugby captain Jamie George criticized his teammate Totoa Auvaa on June 27, 2026, following a London nightclub altercation involving England cricketers Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson.
The incident on June 8 led to an ECB investigation and the temporary omission of the cricketers from the England national team.

Details of the incident
According to reports from BBC, The Guardian, and Sky Sports, Auvaa threw a punch intended for Atkinson at a Chelsea venue, which missed and injured an England and Wales Cricket Board security guard.
Saracens subsequently conducted an internal investigation but chose not to issue formal sanctions against the 21-year-old academy player.
"He's a young kid who has only left Samoa once," said Jamie George, Saracens captain.
George commented on the background and adjustments facing the young back-row forward in London.
"He is immature. He is a rabbit in the headlights in London.
He's a good kid, but he's got it wrong. There's no disputing that.
But we need to make sure that we establish that sort of behaviour is unacceptable," said Jamie George.
The veteran player emphasized the necessity of supporting the young athlete while addressing his behavior.
"There's also a bit of me that thinks we've got to look after him because he doesn't know right from wrong at the minute," said George.
George added that the club intends to surround Auvaa with positive influences during his development.
