Carlo, 29, recorded seven assists and 37 penalty minutes in 55 regular-season games for the Maple Leafs during the 2025-26 campaign.
His season was hampered by injuries, including a two-month absence after foot surgery and a lower-body issue late in the year.
Contract and Career Overview
The 6-foot-5 right-shot defenseman is entering the final season of a six-year, $24.6 million contract with a $3.485 million annual salary cap hit.
TSN reported that the Boston Bruins retained part of his salary when they traded him to Toronto in March 2025.

Before the trade to St. Louis, there were reports that the Bruins had considered reacquiring Carlo to address a depth need on the right side.
The Athletic's Fluto Shinzawa wrote that internal conversations about a potential return had taken place, though Toronto's asking price was unknown.
Instead, the Blues secured Carlo as their second major offseason addition, following the acquisition of center Mason McTavish from the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
