Rookie left-hander Jake Bennett earned the win by limiting the Yankees to one run on three hits across 6 1/3 innings.

His performance extended the Red Sox rotation's run to 10 consecutive quality starts.

Boston's offense struck early against Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, scoring four runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings.

The attack was fueled by home runs from Masataka Yoshida and Anthony Seigler.

Yoshida started the first inning with a 386-foot solo home run into the right-field bullpen on Cole's second pitch, marking his first career leadoff homer.

Seigler extended the lead in the second inning with his first major league home run, a solo shot over the Green Monster against his former draft organization.

In the third inning, Willson Contreras drove in Yoshida and Ceddanne Rafaela with a 114.4 mph double to left-center field, giving Boston a 4-0 advantage.

New York broke up Bennett's no-hit bid in the fifth inning when Max Schuemann hit a solo home run to dead-center field, providing the Yankees' only run of the contest.

The Yankees threatened in the seventh inning with consecutive singles from Amed Rosario and Cody Bellinger, but Justin Slaten entered from the bullpen to strike out two straight batters and strand the runners.

Red Sox relievers Garrett Whitlock and Aroldis Chapman retired the final batters in order, with Chapman securing his 16th save of the season to close out the 2-hour, 22-minute game.
