"I feel like that's all you want as a player. You just want that honesty to know where you stand," Burn said.

Former Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman, who coached Barry during his playing days, revealed that the assistant manager previously took public speaking courses to refine his communication skills.

"At the Croatia game, I thought he was measured and composed but got his point across really well," Coleman said, reflecting on the halftime interview.

Coleman noted that the intense focus on performance improvement may have surprised viewers accustomed to standard television responses.

"Maybe he caught a few people off guard because clearly there were things about the performance he wanted to improve.

There was a bit of understated fury. The more he spoke, I think people realised he was speaking a lot of sense," Coleman remarked.

The former manager recalled that Barry exhibited a strong personal conviction and willingness to speak his mind from the very beginning of his football career.

"He wasn't slow in coming forward with his opinion," recalls Coleman, describing Barry's reaction to a dressing room talk during a 2005 pre-season trip to Scotland.

The coaching staff immediately challenged the young midfielder to establish structural hierarchy within the team.

"We all jumped down his throat," Coleman laughs.

However, the management team respected the player's underlying confidence and resilience in a new dressing room.

"But it showed to the staff and the rest of the squad that he had the guts to stand up for himself in a new environment.
