Uzbekistan took an early lead when Eldor Shomurodov lobbed the ball over goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi from a tight angle.
Shomurodov had a goal disallowed for offside just 30 seconds into the match.
DR Congo thought they had equalized through Nathanaël Mbuku, but VAR ruled it out for a soft foul on Sherzod Nasrullaev.

The equalizer came from a penalty after Abdukodir Khusanov fouled Yoane Wissa in the box. Wissa converted, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Two minutes later, Meschack Elia's deflected shot allowed Fiston Mayele to flick the ball into the net, giving DR Congo the lead.
Wissa sealed the victory in stoppage time with a curling strike from the edge of the box, his third goal of the tournament.

The win highlights a strong tournament for African teams, with nine out of ten nations advancing to the knockout rounds.
