The event began with a two-hour marathon of Jackson covers performed by prominent contemporary country artists, each using Jackson's backing band.
Carrie Underwood performed "Everything I Love," Thomas Rhett sang "Small Town Southern Man," Miranda Lambert performed "Dallas," and Lainey Wilson sang "Tall, Tall Trees."
"It's almost impossible to pick a favorite Alan Jackson song ... but I had to try," said Luke Combs, before launching into "Hard Hat and a Hammer."
Eric Church also participated, performing "Someday" with only an acoustic guitar.
Additional guest artists included Luke Bryan, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Jon Pardi, Lee Ann Womack, and Jackson's family members Adam Wright, Big City Brian Wright, and Carlisle Wright.
The 67-year-old Country Music Hall of Famer was diagnosed 15 years ago with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a genetic degenerative nerve condition that impacts his balance and ability to walk.
One dollar from every ticket sold for the Saturday night concert was dedicated to the CMT Research Foundation to fund a cure for the condition.
Jackson took the stage after 9:35 p. m.
following an approximate one-hour weather delay caused by a storm.
