"We've delivered free childcare for two-year-olds for the first time in New York history," he told.
He further noted that his administration had successfully repaired 165,000 potholes across the city.
"because if we cannot deliver for working people, then what is it for," said Mamdani.
The mayor criticized established Democratic leaders for focusing heavily on opposing Donald Trump instead of offering an independent, constructive economic vision.
"What we've seen over many years is a willingness to not only explain away the status quo, but frankly, even to look to benefit from the status quo," said Mamdani.
He stated that voters want clear solutions rather than explanations for ongoing economic stagnation. "And that's not what working people are looking for from our party," said Mamdani.
Mamdani urged the party hierarchy to clearly demonstrate how federal policies directly improve the daily lives of average citizens.
"You have got to have something you are not just willing to stand up for – but that you're also willing to explain how this is relevant to working people," said Mamdani.
The mayor highlighted the deep economic inequality present within his jurisdiction as a reflection of broader national contradictions.
"I'm leading the wealthiest city in the wealthiest country in the history of the world," said Mamdani.

He pointed out that a significant portion of the city population continues to face severe financial hardship.
"But it's also a city where one in four are living in poverty, and for far too many Americans, those contradictions have become their day-to-day life," said Mamdani.
