Berhalter's Patience Praised
Former US national team player Janusz Michallik commented on the lengthy transfer process during a TVP Sport broadcast.
He praised Chicago Fire head coach Gregg Berhalter for his patience.
"I have huge respect for coach Berhalter because he said that for such great players you have to wait and give them time to make a decision," Michallik said.
He noted that if he were the coach, he might have given up last week.

Michallik also highlighted Lionel Messi's recent international performances as a factor.
Messi scored multiple goals against Algeria, Austria, and Jordan, showcasing that MLS can be a competitive environment for veteran stars.
"When Messi scored that hat-trick, I said it 'signed' Robert," Michallik added. "If he had any doubts that you can't develop in MLS at this age...
Messi shows it not only in MLS."
Lewandowski's move would bring one of Europe's top strikers to the American league, following a trend of high-profile signings.
