A British housing association secured a court injunction on June 18, 2026, forcing a Southampton mother to remove her family's pet rabbit and homemade vegetable patch from a communal garden area.

Aster housing association took legal action against Storm Tapp-Grant, a 33-year-old resident who has lived at the Southampton flat since 2021, at the Southampton County Court following a dispute over the shared space.

The legal order compels Tapp-Grant to dismantle the vegetable patch, raised beds, and decking, as well as remove the rabbit named Nibbles within 14 days of the issued order.

The vegetable garden was established two years ago by Tapp-Grant to teach her two daughters, ages six and two, about healthy food by growing crops like lettuce, cabbage, and carrots.

The ongoing dispute has left the family distressed over the mandatory removal of their pet, which was an Easter gift from the children's late grandfather.

"The kids all love the garden and the vegetable patch which we built and paid for with our own money," said Storm Tapp-Grant.

Tapp-Grant stated that she felt completely overpowered during the legal proceedings at the Southampton County Court.

"I felt so powerless and scared," said Storm Tapp-Grant.

The resident expressed deep dissatisfaction with how the housing provider managed the entire situation.

"I was overpowered completely, it was an open and shut case and they didn't even listen to what I had to say," said Storm Tapp-Grant.
