According to match statistics reported by Sportsnet, Auger-Aliassime hit 37 winners and never faced a break point.
He will next face Dino Prizmic of Croatia.

Denis Shapovalov retired due to a shoulder injury during his first-round match against Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta.

Shapovalov injured his shoulder while chasing a ball and dropped the match 6-3, 7-6 (7). It marked his second consecutive first-round Grand Slam exit this season.
Former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu also lost, falling 7-6 (3), 7-6 (6) to China's Zhang Shuai.
Leylah Fernandez was defeated 6-1, 7-6 (3) by Indonesia's Janice Tjen, failing to convert her only break-point opportunity.
