The match ended with the score at 1-6, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3, 3-1 when Bonzi withdrew.

Bonzi, the world No. 93, dominated the opening of the match by breaking Diallo's serve early in both the first and second sets.

The 6-foot-8 Canadian rallied in the third set, maintaining his composure during a tight tiebreak where he stood just two points away from elimination.

Diallo then leveled the match in the fourth set by securing a crucial break in the ninth game to force a deciding fifth set.

The momentum remained with Diallo into the final frame, where he established a quick 3-1 lead before Bonzi requested assistance from a sports therapist.
