The agency also lifted an earlier tornado warning that had been issued for the Kingston area.

Atmospheric conditions are favorable for producing severe thunderstorms capable of bringing strong wind gusts, heavy rain, and large hail.
The watch covers eastern Ontario and parts of western Quebec.
Potential Hazards
Wind gusts could reach up to 110 km/h. Golf ball-sized hail and rainfall totals exceeding 50 millimetres are possible.
Local utility outages may occur as the storm system moves through the region.

The current thunderstorm watch is designated as yellow. This represents the lowest level on Environment Canada's three-tier alert scale.
For the Kingston area, meteorologists tracked a severe thunderstorm with tornado potential. A red tornado warning was issued at 12:46 p.
m. ET on Tuesday.
This highest-level emergency alert, indicating life-threatening weather conditions, was rescinded just before 1:30 p. m.
