Boston opened the scoring when Contreras hit a three-run home run, his 18th of the season.
Two batters later, Durbin followed with a solo home run to left field, giving the Red Sox an early 4-1 lead.
Despite his offensive contribution, Contreras was ejected in the third inning after mocking the ABS challenge helmet tap following a checked swing strikeout.
Additional runs for Boston came via sacrifice flies by Wilyer Abreu in the second inning and Carlos Narváez in the third inning.

Ranger Suarez earned the win to improve his record to 4-3, striking out eight batters and allowing three runs on five hits across six innings.
The performance marked Boston's 12th consecutive quality start, placing the rotation two games shy of the franchise record of 14 consecutive quality starts set in 1988.

Nationals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas dropped to 2-7 after giving up six runs on nine hits while striking out three over seven innings.
