The Edmonton Oilers have acquired goaltender Devon Levi and a 2028 seventh-round draft pick from the Buffalo Sabres.
The trade, completed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, sends Edmonton's 2028 third-round selection to Buffalo.

General manager Stan Bowman moved quickly after reports that goaltender Connor Ingram would enter free agency. The deal addresses questions about the Oilers' goaltending depth.
Levi, 24, is entering the final season of a two-year, $1.625 million contract with an annual cap hit of $812,000.
He will become a restricted free agent after the 2026-27 campaign.
Last season, Levi played for the Rochester Americans in the AHL, posting a 23-20-9 record in 52 games.
He recorded a 2.83 goals-against average and a . 904 save percentage.
In the Calder Cup playoffs, he went 1-2 with a 2.71 GAA and a . 919 save percentage.

In his NHL career with Buffalo, Levi has appeared in 39 games, compiling a 17-17-2 record, a 3.29 GAA, and an .

Following the trade, Oilers broadcaster Bob Stauffer said, “I don’t think Edmonton is done in goal,” hinting at possible further moves.
Levi, a Quebec native, won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2023 World Hockey Championship and a silver medal at the 2021 World Junior Championship.
