The Princess of Wales made a surprise visit to the Wimbledon Championships on Thursday, July 2, 2026, appearing on day four of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament.
Kate Middleton, the royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, attended early-round matches, breaking from her recent habit of only appearing at finals.

Her visit marked another public appearance since announcing her cancer was in remission.
Upon arrival, the Princess spoke with visitors waiting in the Queue before heading to Court 18 to watch a match between Great Britain's Arthur Fery and Finland's Otto Virtanen.
Kensington Palace reported that she later met with children from the Shine Camera Club, a creative photography program run by the charity SHINE Merton that helps disadvantaged youths develop self-expression.

The Princess then watched a second-round match on No. 1 Court between Great Britain's Katie Swan and Madison Keys of the United States, sitting alongside former players Andy Murray and Anne Keothavong.
Her appearance follows visits by other British royals earlier in the tournament, including the Duke of Kent on the first day and Lady Rose Gilman on the second day.
In a 2017 BBC documentary, Kate said Wimbledon was very much part of her growing up and represents a quintessential part of the English summer that inspires young people to participate in the sport.
