The Los Angeles Dodgers erased a six-run deficit to defeat the San Diego Padres 12-7 on Thursday night at Dodger Stadium.

Starter Roki Sasaki struggled, allowing two runs in the first inning on a Manny Machado home run and four more in the second after homers by Jackson Merrill and Jake Cronenworth.

He exited after three innings, giving up six earned runs on seven hits.

The Dodgers bullpen then shut down San Diego's offense.

Six relievers combined for five innings, allowing only one run and three hits, keeping the Padres at six runs until the ninth.

Comeback Ignited by Rushing

Dalton Rushing started the comeback with a two-run home run in the second inning off Padres starter Randy Vásquez.

Max Muncy followed with an RBI double, and Kyle Tucker added a run-scoring single in the third.

The Dodgers took the lead in the fourth inning with four runs against reliever Wandy Peralta.

Andy Pages hit a two-run double, Mookie Betts added an RBI double, and Muncy chipped in an RBI single.
