Free agent forward LeBron James has drawn interest from nearly the entire NBA, with his agent Rich Paul revealing a 10-team shortlist on July 3, 2026, after confirming his client will depart the Los Angeles Lakers.

During a broadcast on the "Game Over" podcast, Paul mapped out options including the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs, and New York Knicks.

Paul highlighted the impact of recent roster shuffles, specifically noting that a blockbuster trade altering Philadelphia's lineup immediately elevated their standing as a legitimate contender to land the 41-year-old superstar.

"Everything changed," Paul said.

"No offense to Harden, but no Garland, because he loves Garland like he loves Maxey," Paul added.

Paul also addressed the Knicks' situation, stating that if they hadn't won the championship, there would be no board—James would be going to New York.

"It's difficult," Paul said. "The last thing you want to do is mess up something like that.

The Knicks have a good thing. … If the Knicks hadn't have won, there'd be no board.

He'd be going to the Knicks."

He emphasized respect for what the Knicks have built, noting, "It's Jalen Brunson's show. He's earned that right.

You want to respect that."

Paul also mentioned that no one has said this will be James's last year.

The defensive stability of potential championship rosters remains a focal point for James, as separate league reports from ESPN indicate he may explore veteran minimum exceptions to secure a favorable competitive fit rather than making a financially driven choice.
