"I want to play in the big leagues, whichever route that takes me," he said.

Reflecting on his sister's breakthrough at Wimbledon in 2019, he recalled the global impact. "She upset the world there," he said, smiling.

Despite his own baseball trajectory, Gauff hinted that the youngest sibling in the family might eventually surpass them both.

"I think my brother will be the best," he remarked.

Missouri head coach Kerrick Jackson, who recruited Gauff two years ago, avoids mentioning Coco Gauff in conversations to protect Codey's individual identity.

"I get it, but I don't want him to be known as Coco Gauff's brother," Jackson said.

He plans to discuss balancing family fame and collegiate sports when Gauff arrives on campus this fall.

"I want him to be known as Codey Gauff, the catcher that is coming to Missouri as a freshman.

… It's something that he's dealt with his entire life."

Coco Gauff has previously shared how she relies on her brother for mental support during high-stakes tournaments, including her 2023 U.

S. Open title run.

"He told me, 'Pretend that you have to win three sets instead of two.

If you put your mindset into the extra mile, then it seems easier,'" she said at the 2024 Australian Open.

She credited him with reshaping her perspective to handle championship pressure.

"'If you want to win the Grand Slam, say you have to win eight matches instead of seven.

It's like changing your mindset so it feels further.'"

The tennis star also publicly celebrated her brother's commitment to Missouri on social media, calling him "My GOAT, my inspiration, my reason, my best friend."

The family's athletic background includes father Corey Gauff playing collegiate basketball at Georgia State and mother Candi Gauff competing in track and field at Florida State.
