from the Verrazzano Bridge, charting a course up the Hudson River toward the George Washington Bridge, according to CBS News.
The maritime event followed an initial deployment on Friday afternoon, where Class B tall ships navigated the East River from the Hell Gate Bridge to Gravesend, Brooklyn.
Spectators gathered at designated Hudson River access points spanning from West 11th Street to Riverside Park to witness the event, which was preceded by an aerial flyover formation and ceremonial cannon fire near Lower Manhattan.
Security Measures and Preparation
Strict security measures coordinated by the New York City Police Department Harbor Unit structured the public viewing areas, enforcing a ban on personal watercraft and prohibiting backpacks at security checkpoints.
The extensive security operation required a full year of preparation to manage the influx of active military vessels and public crowds.

warships that no one ever gets to put their eyes on, they're here and live, and these are active ships," said Inspector Raul Maisonet, the commanding officer of the New York City Police Department Harbor Unit.
To ensure safety, the NYPD Harbor Unit deployed scuba teams for proactive dives and conducted randomized sonar scans across the waters.
"We still respond to 911 calls," Maisonet said.
"We still do any stops that we have to do – check for boating under the influence or Jet Skiing under the influence."
