Batchelor acknowledged that while recent results had not been perfect due to injuries and suspensions, the team remained highly competitive.

"We didn't quite get there on Good Friday, but I think there's enough in that Wigan game last week to give ourselves a bit of confidence to take that next step forward and really take it to them," Batchelor said.

The back rower emphasized that the squad carried a massive responsibility into the weekend fixture to satisfy the fans.

"There are plenty of people here now that haven't managed to experience that win and I'm sure the fans think it's well overdue," Batchelor said.

"We've got responsibility on Saturday to make sure we put our best foot forward and hopefully that puts us in a position then to come away with the two points."

Reflecting on the competitive nature of their recent losses, Batchelor believed the team was close to turning tight defeats into victories.

"Results-wise have not been perfect," Batchelor said.

"But in the games we have lost, there's only been one or two where the scoreboard's gotten away from us, so imagine if we iced a couple of those games; it would be a different conversation, especially with sort of the injuries and suspensions we've had."

He added that the team could not afford to feel sorry for themselves and needed to maintain high performance levels.

"But no one's going to feel sorry for us on the back of those things," Batchelor said.
