"Despite these comprehensive and coordinated efforts, we have not located Javeayah," announced the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials clarified that the massive search grid required specialized personnel, which led them to decline assistance from untrained civilian volunteers who could inadvertently disrupt tracking efforts.
"We have additionally conducted numerous interviews with this investigation to include her family," stated the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigation Details
Sheriff Sawyer had previously outlined the scale of the operation during an earlier briefing, detailing the investigative steps taken by the nearly 200 first responders on the scene.
"This investigation hits close to home.
We know that this family is living a nightmare, and we are doing everything we can to bring Javeayah home," said Sheriff Sawyer.
At approximately 8:43 p. m.
Tuesday night, 911 dispatch received a call about a four-year-old missing girl in the area of Hillsboro Street and Ridgecrest Road in Aiken County.
Deputies quickly obtained a detailed description of Javeayah and shared her picture with the public and media.
Law enforcement set up a roadblock in her neighborhood immediately and continued those roadblocks nonstop, believing they may help gain information and talk to potential witnesses.
The community has been very supportive and sharing information with us, Sawyer said.
We’ve completed a grid search of more than 3,000 acres on foot, supported by helicopters, drones and dogs.
The FBI is on scene assisting with analytical data and has trained personnel specializing in investigating missing children cases.
There are close to 200 law enforcement officers and first responders within this area searching for Javeayah.
