Digital billboards have been put up seeking the public’s assistance.

A tip line number is (803) 502-5200, and a website for the public to provide surveillance video is available on the sheriff’s office Facebook page.

Law enforcement representatives also explained the specific operational constraints regarding the search protocols and the decision not to broadcast an AMBER Alert based on the initial details provided.

"Every second counts when we are searching for a missing child," explained the sheriff's office.

"We simply cannot risk someone not properly trained making a mistake, missing a clue, or causing other harm."

The agency maintained that the technical requirements for an emergency broadcast were not satisfied by the evidence available to investigators at that time.

Before public search operations were scaled down, the sheriff reconfirmed the primary objective of the field deployments: "This is still a search effort."

Father's Statements Before Arrest

Prior to his arrest, the child's father, Johmarea Harris, spoke to WRDW/WAGT News 12 regarding his daughter's character and denied earlier reports suggesting she had developmental difficulties.

"No, she does not run away, but I will say that she is friendly. Like she’s friendly.

Like she doesn’t, she doesn’t like, it’s not a stranger danger thing with her," said Johmarea Harris.

Harris claimed that the household was well-managed and that he had previously informed investigators about suspicious individuals near their residence.

"She was just all friendly to everybody. She was very respectful.
