The father asserted that he was away from the home doing laundry when the initial emergency response began.
He expressed emotional distress over the unfolding situation and described the state of the child's mother following the disappearance.
"Not knowing is killing me," told Johmarea Harris.
"It’s killing me, like, because, like, I mean, you see stuff like this often, but you don’t expect it to be you."
Harris described his return to the neighborhood, noting the visible police presence and explaining that a lack of cellular service had prevented direct communication with his girlfriend.
Investigators later adjusted their initial assessments of the victim's profile, noting that she was expressive and active, contrary to early missing person reports.
Javeayah was described as a child who "loves Minnie Mouse and likes to chase chickens."
Local residents also expressed their sympathy and support for the family during the initial phase of the community-wide search effort.
"And then my prayers go to the family. And our church, Bethel Baptist, I go to, they’re helping out, too.
And I would like to say to the parents, I’m praying for you all. I know that this is hurting you.
Breaking your heart, and everybody in the neighborhood is thinking about you and praying for you," said neighbor Dorothy Burton.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office stated that additional criminal charges may follow as the active death investigation proceeds.
