England defender John Stones officially became a free agent after his contract with Manchester City expired during the ongoing World Cup tournament in North America.
The 32-year-old center-back spent a decade at Manchester City after joining from Everton, winning 15 major trophies including six Premier League titles and the Champions League under manager Pep Guardiola.

Fitness issues limited him to just 16 appearances across all competitions last season, leading to his departure from the Etihad Stadium.
Stones announced his departure via social media prior to the expiration of his contract.
"They say all good things must come to an end… but this thing we have had has been the greatest and it will remain a part of me forever," wrote Stones on Instagram.
The defender's limited playing time followed concerns regarding his physical availability throughout the domestic campaign.
"I don't have doubts with John," said Guardiola. "When he reaches his level, he is a top central defender.
Unfortunately, I only want him fit and unfortunately, like last season, a lot of the time it is not possible."
Despite his limited domestic minutes, England manager Thomas Tuchel selected Stones for the World Cup squad, starting him in the opening victory against Croatia before favoring Marc Guehi and Ezri Konsa in subsequent fixtures.
