Brown noted that while Verstappen possesses immense talent, McLaren already has a pairing capable of competing at the highest level.
"Any racing series is about getting the best drivers in the world and giving them the best equipment.
So, Max is an awesome talent, but I think Lando and Oscar have both demonstrated they can beat him straight up," said Brown.
Piastri previously dismissed the Red Bull links during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, expressing his commitment to his current team.
"I've got a good relationship with McLaren, so why change?" asked Piastri.
Brown reiterated his definitive stance on the matter, shutting down the possibility of any imminent high-profile transfer.
"No, I don't have a seat available. If a seat was available, then of course you have that conversation," concluded Brown.
During a subsequent press conference at Silverstone, Brown responded to PlanetF1. com and other media outlets to explicitly counter claims that negotiations had advanced.
"They're rumours. No conversations," stated Brown.
Brown mentioned a recent social gathering before continuing to praise his current driver pairing of Norris and Piastri.
"I usually don't talk about my dinners but last night I had dinner with Nigel Mansell, which was really cool.
He's won this race a bunch," remarked Brown.
He acknowledged the public excitement surrounding a driver of Verstappen's stature but maintained full confidence in his roster.
"I'm very happy with my two racing drivers, Lando and Oscar, and I think any time a name like Max is thrown around everyone gets pretty excited," stated Brown.
