Online criticism centered on the departure from the nostalgic elements that defined the ride's original charm.

"This severely interrupts the storytelling, and it is not the correct vibe for that scene at all. Very disappointing," wrote another social media user.

Other visitors questioned whether the structural modification was necessary for the long-standing sequence.

"This feels like a HUGE step back. Not to mention that that part of the ride was always MEANT to be 'frozen in time.'

It's a fix that didn't need fixing, and one that feels outdated," commented a viewer on YouTube.

Some feedback focused on the choice of medium used to execute the storytelling upgrade.

"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should," added another commenter.

Despite the criticism, a segment of the fan community defended the park's technical evolution, citing historical precedents of continuous adaptation.

"I'll admit I don't love it. I do think the concept is very cool, it's just projection mapping isn't.

Nevertheless, I will still always love this ride. And Disney!

A couple of years of bad experiences doesn't hurt the amazing childhood we had with them," noted another fan response.

Some responses embraced the narrative adjustments, praising the technical execution of the loop.

"I will say, I think they executed the idea very well, and I like the 'story' of him caught in an eternal loop of greed and being cursed," wrote a YouTube user.

Other observers remained critical of the balance between historical appeal and modern tech upgrades.

"What makes Pirates timeless is the old school charm of it," countered one Twitter user.

Commenters sought to preserve the design philosophy originally established by the park's founder.

"Personally, I wouldn't have touched this iconic scene," wrote another individual.
