Trump defended the event on social media, asking if his predecessors could have organized a similar function.
“Do you think people appreciate what a fantastic job we did in building and operating the Great American State Fair at the National Mall, packed with happy people, and everybody loving it?”

Shifting topics, Haddish lamented not being invited to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, which drew numerous celebrities.
“How can someone look this good and not get invited to the Taylor Swift wedding?” she asked.
She listed attendees including Brad Pitt, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks, Paul McCartney, Steven Spielberg, and a member of Fall Out Boy, before singling out George Stephanopoulos.
“They had every famous person on Earth. ...
I mean, no offense to George Stephanopoulos, but why the f** did they invite George Stephanopoulos?!” she added.
Haddish joked about her role among the guests: “All those sexy men in tuxedos and no Tiffany to make them feel beautiful.
That's my job, to make men feel beautiful.”
She then addressed Swift directly on camera, saying, “Taylor, I’m sure there’s a good explanation. I probably just have the wrong email address.”
