GO Transit officially launched expanded daily, year-round train service between Toronto and Stratford on Monday, July 6, 2026.
The new service provides an affordable transit option on the Kitchener line.

The extended route features one daily round trip connecting Toronto's Union Station with the Stratford GO station on Shakespeare Street.
Weekday and Weekend Schedules
On weekdays, a morning commuter train departs Stratford at 6:16 a. m.
and arrives at Union Station at 8:47 a. m.
The afternoon return train leaves Toronto at 4:52 p. m.
Weekday trains make scheduled stops in Bramalea, Brampton, Mount Pleasant, Georgetown, Acton, Guelph, and Kitchener, according to GO Transit.
Weekend service caters to day trips. A morning train leaves Union Station at 8:49 a.
m. , and an evening return trip departs Stratford at 4:16 p.

The weekend route includes stops at Bloor GO, Bramalea, Brampton, Mount Pleasant, Guelph, and Kitchener.
Fares and Payment
Passengers traveling on weekends can use a $10 One-Day Weekend Pass for unlimited travel. Standard one-way tickets between Union Station and Stratford cost $25 per person.
Unlike other stations, PRESTO is unavailable in Stratford, and paper tickets cannot be bought at station vending machines.
Children under 12 ride for free.
The service marks a return of regional transit to the area after a previous Metrolinx pilot service extending to London was canceled in 2023 due to low ridership.
