A disagreement between housemates over a free festival ticket has sparked debate about fairness and gratitude.

Gary received a complimentary ticket through his job, and after discussion, he agreed to buy a second ticket and split the cost with Rita.

However, he keeps referring to it as a favour, which has upset her.

Rita's Side: 'He makes me feel like a burden'

Rita says money is tight, and buying a full-price ticket wasn't an option. She suggested splitting the cost so both could attend at half price.

Gary initially hesitated, feeling the free ticket was his perk, but eventually agreed.

Yet, his framing of the arrangement as a significant favour bothers her.

'He said, "I am making myself pay for something that was free for me so you can benefit,"' Rita recounts.

She feels this mindset turns a fun outing into a transaction.

Rita acknowledges Gary is spending money he wouldn't have otherwise, but she argues he also gains a festival companion.

'The way he presents it makes me feel as though I'm being a burden or that I now owe him something,' she says.

'It's reached the point where I almost don't want to go any more.'

Gary's Defence: 'Calling it a favour is stating a fact'

Gary explains that the ticket was worth £100 and given to him personally.

'My first thought was that if Rita wanted to come, she would need to buy her own ticket,' he says.
