Counter-terrorism detectives have taken over the investigation into the death of former Member of Parliament and Reform spokesperson Ann Widdecombe, following the emergence of new evidence.
Emergency services found Widdecombe's body with severe injuries at her home in Haytor, Devon, at 11:40 AM on Thursday.

Devon and Cornwall police initially managed the scene.
Local law enforcement originally stated that specialist counter-terrorism partners evaluated the incident and determined there was no immediate terrorist motive.
However, Counter Terrorism Policing confirmed its specialist regional unit shifted to lead the active homicide investigation on Monday.
Suspect Rearrested on Terrorism Grounds
A 28-year-old white British man from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, was taken into custody on Saturday under suspicion of murder.
Following the emergence of new details during the dynamic inquiry, authorities rearrested the suspect on suspicion of the commission, preparation, or instigation of acts of terrorism.

Laurence Taylor, the head of national counter-terrorism policing, explained the shift in operational leadership.
"Building on the progress made by our colleagues in Devon and Cornwall police, we now have new information and evidence that means counter-terrorism policing is now leading the investigation," Taylor said.
"We are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the motivation for this attack," Taylor added.
"Our priority is progressing this investigation quickly, with all the capabilities we have available to us.
