Spanish champion Barcelona has secured the signing of forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, the club announced on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
The deal runs through 2031 and is worth up to 29 million euros.
The transfer reunites the German international with head coach Hansi Flick, who gave Adeyemi his senior national team debut.
Barcelona targeted the versatile attacker as part of an attacking restructure following Robert Lewandowski's departure to MLS side Chicago Fire.
Adeyemi, 24, can play as a central striker or on either wing.
He made 11 appearances for Germany across four Bundesliga seasons with Dortmund, though his final campaign was marked by inconsistent form.
Adeyemi Credits Flick for Move
Speaking at his official presentation, Adeyemi highlighted his relationship with Flick as the decisive factor in the transfer.
"The main reason I'm here is Flick, I've talked to him from the first moment," Adeyemi said.
The forward emphasized his readiness to fulfill any tactical role. "I don't care where I play, I've played in all attacking positions.
I will do it where the coach tells me and where I can help the team the most," he stated.
Adeyemi noted that Flick provided essential backing despite his recent struggles. "We had a long conversation with Flick.
He's very important to me. I told him that I was ready to give it all," Adeyemi said.
He acknowledged his difficulties before reiterating his commitment. "When I found out, I couldn't believe it; my last season wasn't my best.
Flick has been a pillar of support," Adeyemi added.
Adeyemi joins a revamped Barcelona attack that also recently added England winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.
