"Due to the scale and unpredictable nature of the wind direction… I would not use the word to say it is ‘under control’ but I am confident we have the resources in place and a plan in place to mitigate any risks of this fire," Griffin said.
An investigation into the official cause of the wildfire has been launched as crews remain stationed at the scene to handle ongoing hotspots.
"Although the fire is dynamic, it remains stable and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service is making good progress and confident that tactics are working and moving in the right direction," stated a representative, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.
Local emergency planning teams confirmed that public safety measures effectively mitigated risks for surrounding residents.
"They’ve been absolutely brilliant at looking after everyone, so I want to stress my thanks and gratitude to everyone involved," said Freddie Gulliver, Official at the Suffolk Joint Emergency Planning Unit.
Operational status at the nearby nuclear facility remained unaffected throughout the incident.

Evacuated residents recounted their experiences as emergency services cleared the nearby holiday park.
"Just looking at the pictures… it’s quite worrying how close it is to the park now," said Lisa Gordon, Evacuated Visitor.
Responders safely guided holidaymakers through dense smoke during the initial evacuation phase.
"It’s a car, it’s a caravan, and it’s insured but at the end of the day it’s a lot of hassle, isn’t it?"
