Muir is the only female athlete on Team Scotland to have competed in both the 2014 and 2026 Glasgow Games.

"I think there is only five of us from that team [2014] that are here, I'm the only woman, so that's pretty special, I'm very proud of that," she said.

Reflecting on her 12-year journey, Muir approached these Games with a low-pressure mindset.

"It's nice, I didn't put a lot of pressure on myself for these Games, I just wanted to enjoy it and soak it all up," she said.

She ended her campaign with mixed feelings: "I'm just disappointed I couldn't have enjoyed that more out there."
