"The data from the box did say that it was 19 seconds from the time I took it off to the time it shocked him.

So, that was pretty quick," said Simpler.
Simpler noted the fortunate timing of having trained medical responders present.
"We absolutely had some divine intervention that day," she said.
Christenson expressed full awareness after waking up, acknowledging the critical role of the equipment.
"When I bent over, I just collapsed," he said.
Christenson stated he did not recall the onset of the sudden cardiac event.
"I had no idea that I had a cardiac arrest. No idea.
But I was wide awake, alert. Alert as I've ever been," he said.
He credited the prompt application of the automated external defibrillator for preserving his life.
"It's that defibrillator that saved me," said Christenson.
Reflecting on the life-saving intervention, Christenson expressed gratitude.
"I sincerely believe this: I'm the luckiest guy anywhere," he said.
